Welcome kit for new guests at Governor's Mansion Inn, student project
The Governor’s Mansion Inn is an historic boutique hotel located in Madison, WI. The inn was built in the 1850s as a private residence and then became the executive mansion of Wisconsin in 1885 after being purchased by Governor Jeremiah Rusk. It remained the executive residence for 17 Wisconsin governors from 1885 to 1950. I designed a Welcome Kit that guests would receive as they check into the hotel. The kit emphasizes the history of the mansion using a timeline as well as the individual elements of the timeline (circles and long vertical lines) as unifying elements throughout the kit. The kit design includes a booklet, toiletries, postcards, and a belly band design for the box.
